Stories told through the frame, one honest exposure at a time

Torvex is a small documentary practice based in Enugu, working slowly and carefully across Nigeria. Every set comes with captions, context, and a note on how consent was handled.

What we do

We photograph carefully, and we write down how

Torvex began as a way to slow photojournalism down. Rather than chasing a single dramatic frame, we build sets — sequences of images that read together, backed by captions that carry real, verifiable detail.

  • Consent discussed and recorded before every assignment
  • Captions state who, where, and under what understanding
  • Full method notes shared alongside the finished set

Why we work this way

Neutral chrome, so the photograph can carry the page

  • We slow down enough to ask, and to explain what a photograph is for
  • Every set is sequenced so it reads as a story, not a collection
  • Licensing terms are written in plain sentences, not legal shorthand
  • Method notes are shared so readers can see how a set was made

If a story needs telling carefully, we would like to hear about it.
